Our Beginnings

Stardust Press emerged out of the need to publish a body of work that did not fit into conventional publisher's boxes at a time when diverse voices were ready to speak up and out.

Our hope is that this will become a place where a singular voice longing to be heard finds a comfortable landing.

With small print runs of 300 copies or less, through marketing, community connection and diligent effort it is relatively easy to achieve modest sales.

At Stardust press women artist / writers of the AFRICAN diaspora have a portal where a creative vision can come to life and be published.

WHAT WE LOVE TO READ

We are fascinated by hybrid text incorporating as many styles as fits the work's aesthetic ideals and goals, with pages for the non-verbal art forms to speak in tandem with words.

We believe form or craft can become liquid in order to see creativity and freedom of expression bring a concept to life in the inspirational form of a paper publication, book, chapbook or zine.

In this way of developing the freedom to fully inhabit your own form, unique writing and art styles will naturally emerge.

Stardust Press invites alternative views of how to utilize a page of paper.

This is where visual art, poetry, personal narrative, fiction and fact can live together as one.

Our GOALS AND DREAMS

Our aim is to print and launch one publication per year out into the world.

We are seeking original unpublished works with fresh progressive ideas from women of the AFRICAN DIASPORA under 50 years of age.

Visions dreamt by artist/writers of the African Diaspora focusing on text and image works that inspire, bring hope and visionary healing into the bodies of our communities.

We are not so interested in correct form or craft but want to see creativity, beauty and freedom of expression as a living concept.

We are focused on right relationship as opposed to profit, notoriety and feeding social media algorithms.

Aiming to give supportive opportunities to marginalized individuals while working within the oppressive, capitalist system.
